On the outskirts of this town with its roots firmly in the industrial period, it’s sometimes hard to find attractive property. The centre of the town itself consists of a none too distinguished High Street with lots of smaller shops and a selection of banks and building societies. Also there stand a couple of very long established Estate Agengies. These are now showing a nice selection of houses and bungalows at higher than expected prices.
There is one property fairly near me that has featured suddenly in the local paper – it jumped at me almost from across the room. Square bay windows filled with proper lead panes. The brickwork surrounds are beautiful examples of ar deco craft. The unmistakeable marks of the art deco period still exist and it has remaind virtually untouched since new. This is reflected in the no unsubstantial price tag. Art Deco heaven indeed.
