I recently returned from a helter skelter kind of exciting holiday down in the south west – a cottage break with several family members and a handful of puppy dogs. It was full on for the first half of the stay – and the weather was pretty grim, so we were truly shattered at the end of each fun filled day.
What can be nicer than being able to park up the motor and all race indoors to then slump in a nice comfortable armchair . . . . . . We enjoyed this aspect greatly and it was when slumped, inelegantly over the arm of one chair that I noticed the character features of our cottage. There were beautiful glass lamp shades, small inlets of stained glass in the door panels. A smart tiled fire surround and the unmistakeable beauty of an original parquet floor in the ‘snug’. Such art deco delights made such a difference to the look of the property. Sheer class!
