There is a movement towards beautiful well designed and made furniture and effects – the clock is turning back time and younger professionals are really getting into the thought that buying good pieces from independent suppliers – stylish and geometric. Maybe the stylised mirror fronted chest of drawers and wardrobes. The art deco movement has been influencing design over the decades – it gets forgotten during the loud, cheap and cheerful phases we go through every few years. Then suddenly out of thin air comes a burning desire for the beauty and simplicity of an art deco piece and then a few more follow on. It’s wonderful to see the appreciation when families do make that special effort to be individual and their friends really enjoy coming round to see and perhaps copy for themselves. Copying is a form of flattery and it shows that you admire a theme or look, even if you only buy one or two pieces.
